Destructive and Non-Destructive material testing
Services:
Destructive material testing (DT)
Tensile test:
A sample is subjected to a controlled tension until failure, to identify how the material will react under forces.
ZD 100 szakítógép, maximum 1000 kN,
Zwick/Roell Z150 tensile testing machine, maximum load 150 kN.
Impact test:
Shows the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture (toughness).
ÜT 30 impact testing machine with max. of 300 J energy.
Bend test:
Strength of the material by bending it over a given radius.
ZD 100 tensile testing machine with max of 1000 kN power load
Welding bend test with max of 4000 kN power load.
Flattening test:
The compression strength of the tube to find out if it will rupture upon flattening.
ZD 100 tensile testing machine with max of 1000 kN power load
Ring expanding test:
A test ring is expanded by a mandrel until fracture occurs to reveal defects on the surfaces and within the tube wall.
ZD 100 tensile testing machine with max of 1000 kN power load
Hardness testing HT:
The resistance to indentation and it is determined by measuring the permanent depth of the indentation.
Zwick-Roell ZHV 20 hardness tester by Knoop & Vickers (HV0,1-HV20),
HPO 250 hardness tester by Brinell & Vickers.
HPO 3000 hardness tester by Brinell,
Hanemann microhardness testing by Vickers with Neophot 21 microscope.
Portable hardness testing HT:
The method is pretty much the same as it says above, but in this case the unit can be taken to site and the test can be done locally.
Krautkrämer TIV with power load of 50 N.
Metallographic testing:
Microscopic study of the physical structure and components of metals in-lab or on-site (replica).
PRESI automatic grinding and polishing machines,
NEOPHOT 21 metal microscope,
Zeiss Axio Imager metal microscope,
PRESI replica kit and a portable microscope.
Determination of Ferrite content by metallographic method:
Within the process, the samples are prepared for the tissue structure test. The method is colour tint etching, being used to get the texture, what is recorded with a microscope. The evaluation is based on an image analysing software, which is reported in documentation.
Erichsen cupping test:
Ductility test to evaluate the ability of metallic sheets and strips to undergo plastic deformation in stretch forming.
